Course Objectives
Upon completion of
this course, participants will be able to:
1. Evaluate the
major bio-psycho-social factors that shape sexual response.
2. Differentiate
between the organic and psychogenic causes of sexual
dysfunctions.
3. Diagnose sexual
dysfunctions & disorders in males.
4. Diagnose sexual
dysfunction & disorders in females.
5. Learn how to
treat sexual dysfunctions & disorders in males.
6. Learn how to
treat sexual dysfunctions & disorders in females.
7. Appreciate the
impact of the "medicalization" of sexual treatment on
clinical practice.
8. Assess the impact
of disease, medication and recreational drugs on sexual
functioning and intimate relationships
9. Diagnose and
learn treatment options for patients presenting with paraphilias
and sexual compulsivity disorders.
10. Recognize the
positive effect of sex therapy treatment on marriage and
intimate relationships.
11. Learn specific
treatment techniques and interventions utilizing the traditional
sex therapy modality, for couples.
12. Review of the current
research in clinical sexology. |
