In
Florida, psychotherapists who wish to work as Sex Therapists must meet
specific educational requirements as described in Florida Law.
Rule 64B4-7.004 (2005)
Use of the Title "Sex Therapist" (2) Use of the Title Sex
Therapist. Any licensed clinical social worker, marriage and
family therapist, or mental health counselor who holds himself
out as a sex therapist shall have completed: (a) A minimum of 120 hours of
approved education. and twenty hours of clinical case supervision. |

The Florida Sex Therapy
Institute's program certifies professionals as Clinical Sex Therapists,
allowing them legally to practice sex
therapy in Florida.
This
Institute (Fl. Provider# 50-756, Expiration
3/2009) accepts only people that have completed a Masters or Doctoral
degree.
You need not be licensed to be eligible for this course.
Nurse
Practitioners, Physician's Assistants, and Physicians are welcomed to
train at the Institute. |

Our
Mission
To provide a continuing
education program that focuses on the significance of human sexuality as it
plays out in the treatment of situations from childhood throughout the life
span.
Upon completion of Florida Postgraduate Sex
Therapy Training Institute's course work, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize the major
bio-psycho-social forces that share sexual functioning.
2. Specify counseling techniques and interventions in normal and abusive
sexual relationships.
3. Specify ways to encourage loving relationships between partners.
4. Learn basic sexual rights and
ethics.
5. Differentiate physical and
psychological causes of sexual dysfunction.
6. Assess the impact of disease,
medications and drugs on sexual functioning
and relationships.
7. Be aware of the latest
research in clinical sexology.
8. Understand sexual health
issues.
9. Present a full sex therapy
case study.
10. Be recognized as Certified
by the State of Florida.
11. Earn Domestic Violence
Continuing Education Credits (3.0)
12. Earn HIV / AIDS Continuing
Education Credits (3.0)
13. Be able to treat Sexual
Offenders, Juvenile and Adult Victims of Sexual
Assault.

Dr. Lee is a Licensed
Clinical Social Worker, and Clinical Sex Therapist with over twenty years
experience. She is a Psychotherapist in private practice, and trains Florida
Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Social
Workers( Provider# 50-756, Expiration 3/2007 ).
Dr. Lee is a member of The Palm Beach
County Mental Health Association, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, National
Association of Social Workers. and the International Society for the Study of
Women's Sexual Health and is state certified as a Continuing Education
Instructor. She is the director, educator and clinical supervisor of the
Florida Postgraduate Sex Therapy Training Institute, a 120 hour Florida Sex
Therapy Certification Program.
