You will earn 60 CE credits in the Practice of Sex Therapy
Location: Palm Beach, Florida
Program Dates: November 1-11, 2011
Faculty: Susan Lee, Ed..D., Richard Siegel, Ph.D.(c)
The focus of this program is on understanding the significance of human sexuality as it plays out in treatment situations from childhood throughout the life span. Professional training in sex therapy was established in 1970 with the publication of Masters and Johnson’s book Treating Sexual Inadequacy. Although many mental health experts have since written extensively in the sexual field, specific behavioral and cognitive approaches have received emphasis in the literature. Sex therapy is a specialized psychotherapeutic modality often utilizing short term approaches. The sex therapist deals openly and directly with sensitive and sometimes painful issues. Participants of this intensive training will gain knowledge in specific sex therapy and intimacy treatment techniques to enhance their clinical practice.
